Long Description 1: A plug-in for use with Adobe Acrobat. MaskIt allows you to mask areas (inside or outside the defined area) of pages of PDF documents so that anything that would normally display or print in that area will no longer appear. It is particularly useful for removing items such as logos, dirty areas appearing in a PDF file after scanning, confidential information, or headers and footers. Additional items can be added in these masked areas later.
Long Description 2: MaskIt is a plug-in for use with Adobe Acrobat. The MaskIt tool allows you to mask defined areas of pages of PDF documents so that anything that would normally display or print in that area will no longer appear.
Use the MaskIt tool from the Adobe Acrobat toolbar to draw a marquee, then select whether you want to remove content inside or outside that defined area, and the content is removed. Hence, MaskIt can create masks that remove information from either: inside a defined area, such as a graphic or logo, or outside an area (e.g., remove headers and footers from a page but leave everything else on the page intact). In addition, the Mask configurations can be saved and reused using the Mapsoft MaskIt option accessed from Acrobat's Plug-ins Menu. This desktop publishing tool is then particularly useful for removing items such as logos, dirty areas appearing in a PDF file after scanning, confidential information, or headers and footers. Features: mask areas internally or externally to a defined area; mask across multiple pages; mask odd and even pages; define distribution to page ranges; save masks for future use; and easily define masks using the [mask] tool. Additional items can be added in these masked areas later using a PDF stamping tool. Obviously, additional items that might be added to the PDF later such as text output from Impress and Impress Pro (both sold separately) will display.
